Alpha Pet Ventures, a leading technology-driven brand platform for premium pet food based in Munich, Germany, has acquired UK-based premium pet food manufacturer Arden Grange.
Arden Grange is an independent family business founded in 1996 by dog lovers and breeders Graham and Wendy Stephens. Based outside the southern English city of Brighton, the company focuses on premium pet food for dogs and cats.
While Alpha Pet is strongly positioned in online sales and generates more than 50 per cent of its sales directly to consumers (D2C), Arden Grange shows great potential to expand its currently low D2C share, according to a press release on the Arden Grange acquisition. Following the acquisition of the English pet food manufacturer, which is still subject to regulatory approval, the Arden Grange brand is to be further developed independently under the umbrella of Alpha Pet Ventures, distribution in the UK is to be supplemented by Alpha Pet's digital expertise and international distribution of the brand in the DACH region is to be expanded via Alpha Pet's subsidiary Premium Pet Products and its offline sales team.
